Sanner's Carbine Classic
The Sanner’s Carbine Classic is a practical carbine match similar to an IDPA match but the firearm used is a carbine of intermediate caliber (muzzle energy ≤1875 ft·lbs). Competitors will be shooting primarily at paper targets interspersed with the occasional clay pigeon or other reactive target. While infrequent, there may be any number of "blind stages" during a match where the brief is limited and the competitor will not get the chance to see the stage before shooting. Round count per stage will vary depending on the stage and the amount of targets but will not exceed more than sixty shots required. Any carbine or rifle that complies with the muzzle energy limit is welcome but the emphasis will be on home defense and duty rifles. Nominal round count is 100-150, and all sign-ups will be via Practiscore.

Match ResultsSanner’s Carbine Classic August 2026 Match Report August 29, 2026 In the martial arts, a tune-up fight is a bout against a lesser ranked opponent. It is often used to build confidence and prepare for a future, more challenging contest. After getting properly humbled by the summer 2 Gun match, what we all needed was a tune-up match, a chance to get back in the saddle and prove to ourselves that we still kind of knew what we were doing. Saturday’s match offered such a chance, but that is not to say the match was easy. The stages featured unorthodox shooting positions (after Stage 4, I am now prepared for a home intruder scenario if I happen to have my feet propped up on the ottoman), plenty of left leans to discombobulate most shooters, and a balancing act that had to be seen to be properly appreciated. John Sterling dominated the match, besting the 2nd place competitor by nearly 15 seconds. Special mention goes to Zachary Booth for getting a top 10 finish while also coming out on top in Ironman division, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Stanislav for High MIL/LE and High Lady, respectively.
